Fall for Less: Budget-Friendly Decor Ideas from Our Fall Front Porch

We’ve spent the end of summer dreaming about sipping hot chocolate, wrapped up in layers, on our fall front porch. And so, we knew creating a welcoming fall scene on our front porch would go a long way, especially considering guests would be visiting often with the holiday season gearing up.

In this blog post, we share how we decorated our fall front porch the budget-friendly way, mainly using faux decor items. Keep an eye out for product links to purchase for your very own fall-inspired porch 🍂

Flanking the Front Door with Urns

If anything, the front should be warm and inviting — so your visitors feel welcome as they enter your home. We achieved this warmth by flanking the front door with two urns, one on either end.

We first placed faux cabbage in the center of the urn arrangement; its rustic charm perfectly added to the fall ambiance we were looking to create. We then split orange grass on each side of the cabbage, and placed purple grass towards the back. These vibrant-hued grasses not only added a punch of color but also introduced a sense of movement by gently swaying with the breeze.

Finally, we added height (and more texture) to the arrangement with willow sticks protruding from the back. As a bonus, the slender branches added organic beauty to the urn setup.

Layering Mats

There’s no better way to add depth and visual intrigue to the front porch than by layering mats (and we love how it softens the space underfoot for anyone walking in!). We first laid down a white striped rug to provide a sophisticated foundation; also, the stripes added a contemporary touch. And, of course, our fall porch would need a delightful Halloween flair. In the rug setting, we achieved this with a beige Halloween mat featuring a black print of stripes and bats. We also added a spice of Halloween to the ceiling, see below!

Hanging Witch Hats

Suspending gracefully from the ceiling (seemingly mid-air!) were witch hats. We opted for a combination of three; the odd number and asymmetrical arrangement further added a touch of mystery to our fall front porch. And when the wind rustles through the porch, the hats sway as if possessed by a mischievous spirit 😉

Sprinkling in Pumpkins

As the final touch (and an absolute fall necessity), we added pumpkins of different hues and sizes, placing them in front of the urns. These helped add a splash of fall colors while celebrating the bounty of harvest — and joy of the season!

Final Words

Our favorite part of the arrangement was how budget-friendly it was to create; the faux decor items were easy on the pocket, but their high quality ensured the look remained luxurious. We hope our fall front porch inspires you to recreate this in your home — or use it for inspiration to curate a setup of your own 🧡
